Las Canarias Flute and Guitar Duo is located in Northern Virginia, and
serves the Metropolitan Washington DC area. We perform a variety
of music: Baroque, Renaissance, Classical, Celtic, and World Music.
We are available for performances of almost any kind, but are
specifically interested in the following:

Linn
Kezer, Flutist, began her music career in the U.S. Army Band program,
attending the U.S. Army Element School of Music at the U.S. Naval
Amphibious Base in Little Creek, VA. Upon graduation she was transferred
to the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) Band at Fort Carson, CO. She
studied voice with Dr. Robert Harris at Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA. She has studied with Rebecca Jeffreys and has performed in masterclasses for Per Oien, Rebecca
Jeffreys, Alexa Still, and Chris Potter. She has performed
with the Woodbridge Flute Choir at the White House and the Kennedy
Center in Washington, DC. She performed in a concert tour of the British
Isles with the Armstrong State College Vocal Chamber Ensemble, and
toured Florida and Chile with the Encore Continental Singers. She
performs vocally and on flute throughout Northern Virginia and the
Washington DC metropolitan area. She is the founding director of the
WyndSong Flute Quartet. She also plays flutes and sings with Stringer
Folk; an Irish, Canadian, and American folk group. Linn is active in the
music program at her church and has sung the National Anthem for the
Potomac Cannons and the George Mason Patriots. |
Amy
Penchuk, Guitarist, studied classical guitar at New
England Conservatory with David Leisner and with Bruce Holzman at
Florida State University. She holds a BA in music and is currently
seeking a Masters in Public Policy at George Mason University. Amy has performed in Master
Classes with David Tenenbaum, Sharon Isbin, Manuel Barrueco, Benjamin
Verdery and David Russell. She enjoys a variety of music from John
Dowland to Heitor Villa Lobos and Leo Brouwer. She has also studied
Latin American folk music and rhythms. Amy is a member of the
Washington Guitar Society. She currently works as a
Software Developer and lives in Arlington, VA. |
